I recently stayed at a hotel near Turin Airport which was perfectly situated for skiing. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and always on hand to help with anything we needed. The ski lift was only a minute's walk away and there was even a discount for the ski hire shop opposite. We also had ample storage space for skis and boots in the hotel. One extra advantage was the afternoon tea served with fresh cakes which was a great treat after a long day on the slopes.

The lack of TV channels in English, but this certainly wasn't a showstopper.

The noise from the snow-ploughs early in the morning, but it was really just a minor inconvenience. Another small concern was the lack of a lock on the ski shed, which made me a bit anxious about leaving my walking boots.
